Do I need to buy any hardware for your service?
To use our solutions you need to have internet access in your office space. If you have this then you will not need any other hardware. All of our solutions are hosted and maintained on NEACT hardware, thus relieving the headache from you. You no longer have to worry about updating hardware, software, maintenance, etc. You just enjoy and use our software packages and leave the rest to us!
Give one adjective to describe your company?
This is the easiest question for us to answer. We believe we are smart and have great products at great pricing, but the one word that best describes us is “Ethical”. It is hard to find people that stand behind their word and do what they say they will. Our customers will tell you unequivocally that even if we make a mistake, we always live upto our word and stand behind what anyone in our organization claims. We will make you happy and do it in the most ethical manner possible!

How does Support work?
Support is our specialty. We will support you via the telephone and email like many other organizations. If you require further assistance, we have a unique method by which we will take over your computer and see EXACTLY what is going on. This “remote desktop sharing” allows us to watch you step by step and help you solve your problem instantly!
How financially stable are you?
We have been in business for over 20 years. We are privately held, family business. We have no venture capital or outside funding. During that 20 year period we have developed a large customer base that has come to rely on us for all their IT needs. This has allowed us to have a very strong financial base. Because we are private, we do not disclose our financials, however, on an individual basis we will be more than happy to share financial/D&B info with your organization if needed.
How long does it take to learn your software(s)?
Our software typically takes 1-4 hours to learn. We have always been able to train our client in this time and they are able to be up and running after that. The software(s) are all designed to be Simple Solutions and Easy to Learn!
How long have you been in business?
NEACT has been in business in one variation or another since 1984. It was started as a family business addressing the IT needs of the public sector and has continued in various ways over the 20 years. We have stayed in basis on the simple strategy of having good products and being very ethical in our approach. We are confident you will feel the same way.
One advantage that we have is that we are not only a software company. We have another division of our company that deals with computer hardware and networking solutions. The other division allows us to have confidence for 2 reasons. The first is that we can diagnose and understand almost any problem that our clients have at their location, to ensure our software is working properly. The second is that we are not just dependent on our software solutions. We have financial stability generated from our other division(s) that allows us to be confident no matter what the business environment is. This is VERY unique as compared to our competitors that are solely dependent on the financial stability of one product only. We are built to last for a long time!
How many clients do you have?
Our company as a whole has over 500+ active clients and growing. We have been in business for over 20 years, so our history is rich and our established clientbase extensive. Depending on which product you are interested in, we have at least 50-100 clients utilizing one of our software(s) at this time. Each piece is integrated and we often find that when your organization uses one piece, it soon will require the use of another product.
Once you are in the NEACT “family” we make sure your needs are properly handled and addressed. Our customer support and good business ethics have allowed us to have incredibly high retention with virtually no customer churn at all!
How much does it cost?
Our pricing model is simple:
1. There is a one time setup fee
This covers your branding of the site, the costs for the payment gateway, and training.
2. Monthly Recurring Fee
This flat fee starts is based on the size of your school. This will allow unlimited customers, unlimited administrators, unlimited teachers, unlimited invoices, unlimited processing, unlimited usage. Did we mention its unlimited everything ?

* We do not have a per transaction model at this time. Please do research in providers that do as they often have many hidden costs and charge for refunds, credits, changes of invoices, amount of administrators, limit your transactions and more. We believe in keeping it simple. One fee covers it all!
If you go out of business, what about our data?
We are often asked what would happen to your data if there was a closing of our services. We would absolutely ensure your data would be available for download and we would assist in finding you a subsequent service provider while leaving our software running for as long as necessary during your transition.
Need help with credit card setup?
NEACT understands that many organizations do not have Credit Card processing capabilities. If you have your own means of getting all the components ready for credit card processing, we will work with you so there are no integration/compatibility issues. We require a Verisign Payment Gateway Pay Flow Pro account for payment gateway services. If you do not have one, we can arrange it at a discount price.
For a merchant account you are free to either stay with your existing Merchant Service Provider or Choose another institution. If you already have a merchant account you will need to upgrade to an account that will allow for online transactions.
Our organization does not need Credit Card processing online...

We are not located near you, how will you train us?
We have a wonderful way we train you. If you are local, we welcome you to come to our office or perhaps we can come to yours. If you are not close, we have a “screen sharing” software that will allow us to share one screen and as we speak on the telephone we can both share the screen and go through the training one step at a time. Our NEACT customer service rep will have you use your mouse and keyboard and operate the software. We will be able to watch exactly what you are doing instantly and train you with ease!
What is your software written in?
Our software is written in various technologies, including Microsoft and Open Source technology. The reason behind this is we select the best technology for the best purpose. Often we will integrate both technolgies as well. Our solutions can include:
- Apache Web Servers
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- SQL Server
- MySql Server
Where are you located?
We have been in business since 1984 in New Jersey. Our main office is located there with another office located in New York and Washington DC. We are expecting to office on the west coast shortly as well.
Where is the application loaded?
All software is loaded on NEACT’s servers. You do not have to load any software on any server or machine in your office. The only requirement is an internet connection to view your software. Your application can be viewed or administrated from your office, your home, or anywhere else you can get internet access!
Where is your development team?
Our offices are in New Jersey and New York. Our development team is located in these areas, with some development being done in our Washington DC office.

You claim great things, but how many clients have you lost?
This is a great question that we often get. We have been fortunate to have a 99% retention rate over our software development history. The only time we have lost a client is when they go out of business or have made a decision to change their own internal business strategy. We have been very fortunate that our clients have stayed with us for years at a time. We have some clients that have been with us for OVER 10 YEARS!
